Meet the Staff of Artistic Dentistry
Shanna Jackson
I was born in Waycross, Georgia and raised in Baxley, a small town located in South Georgia. Baxley is the home of the late writer Caroline Miller, the first Georgian to receive the Pulitzer Prize. After high school, I attended Valdosta State University where I graduated in 2005 with a degree in Administrative Services and a minor in Speech Communication. After graduating, I moved to Atlanta and worked for a staffing agency. I started with Dr. Vanstrom as a patient, and soon after was offered a job working on his staff as office coordinator. I love working with the patients and supporting Dr. Vanstrom. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I love being outdoors and playing with my dogs.
Kerri McKenzie
I was born in Atlanta and raised in Norcross, Georgia. I knew as a little girl that I wanted to be a dental hygienist. So after high school I attended Georgia Perimeter College, (formally DeKalb College) to seek my Dental Hygiene degree. While attending college, I worked as an orthodontic assistant to familiarize myself with the dental field. The year 1999 was a big year for me; I graduated from college, started my profession and got married to the man of my dreams. In 2002, I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Vanstrom and his staff as a temporary hygienist. I fell in love with it so much that he hired me on part-time in 2005. At the present time, my husband Tommy and I are living in Monroe, Georgia with our two precious young children, Jacob and Elizabeth, and of course I can’t forget my two boxer pups, Bailey and Rudi.
Kathy Tedder
I was born in Warner Robins, Georgia, home of Robins Air Force Base. I developed an interest in the dental field during high school, and at regular visits to my dentist office. I was encouraged to pursue my interest by a dental hygienist at my church. I graduated from Macon College with an Associate Degree in Science and Dental Hygiene. I have practiced for 19 years. I am a wife and proud mother of three lovely children. I love playing tennis and being outdoors with my children.
Cindy Shubert
I am a Southern girl, born and raised here in Atlanta, Ga. I am Scotch-Irish, and on a good day I am 5’2″ tall. I feel very blessed because I have been given many gifts in my life: my loving family, my beautiful teenage son and my incredible friends that I get to work with everyday at Artistic Dentistry of Atlanta.
I graduated from Tucker High School  and attended West Georgia College. I received my Certified Dental Assistant degree in 1995, and shortly after that began my career with Dr. Vanstrom. It has been amazing to watch our practice grow over the last 15 years. I have a very busy and full life as a mother of a teenager. It can get crazy going every night to practice and then to another practice, weekend tournaments, being team mom and booster club president but I would not have it any other way. I am very passionate about fitness, a healthy lifestyle, makeup and fashion, and peanut butter!
Beth Adams
I was born and raised in Eatonton Georgia, where most of my family still resides. I moved to Atlanta right after high school then attended Gwinnett Technical Institute receiving a Certification in Dental Assisting. Artistic Dentistry of Atlanta was my first assisting job. I love assisting and love this practice so much that I would never dream of doing anything else. My husband and I have been married since 2000 and have a beautiful little girl, Abigail. We spend most of our free time with each other and our friends going to all the amazing places Georgia has to offer.
Marian Banks
I was born and raised in Melrose Park, Illinois, outside of Chicago. I moved to Houston where I met my husband, Bob. We have two grown daughters, Megan and Lindsey. We live in Lilburn, and love living in the beautiful state of Georgia. I”ve worked in different aspects of dentistry for over 30 years and have enjoyed all of it. As Dr. Vanstrom”s office manager, I”m able to put my experience to good use every day. When not working, I enjoy playing ALTA tennis and being in a neighborhood book club. Over the last two years I have also gone back to college part-time to pursue a degree.
Betty Vanstrom
I was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, and moved to Southern California with my family when I was four. I attended San Marino High School where I met my future husband, Peter Vanstrom. We both received our Bachelors degrees from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1983 and moved to Atlanta in 1984 so that Peter could attend Emory University Dental School and I could continue my career as a marketing representative for IBM. After five years at IBM, I went to work for Norrell Corporation in various sales and management positions, most notably vice president of the IBM national account.
After 12 years with Norrell Corporation, I made the decision in 1999 to retire from Corporate America and focus on raising our two daughters, Christine and Caroline. Since that time, I have become more and more involved with Artistic Dentistry as business and accounting manager. I love working with Peter and his wonderful staff. In my spare time, I enjoy playing ALTA and USTA with my tennis friends.
